5 Creepiest mysteries of the Bermuda Triangle are quite interesting!
The Famous Mysteries of the Bermuda Triangle
1. 1872: Mystery of Mary Celeste
A ship called Ellen Austin left Liverpool to make a voyage to New York in December 1880 carrying passengers who were hoping to emigrate permanently to the United States.
" THE START "
After sailing across the Atlantic Ocean for several weeks, Captain Griffin took a shortcut through the stormy Sargasso Sea, where the Bermuda Triangle lies.
Captain Griffin did not explore the schooner for two days, thinking it may be a trap.
There was just one problem- there were no crew members aboard the schooner.
Seeing the chance to collect and sell goods from a wrecked ship, Captain Griffin sent some of his sailors to move the vessel to New York.
" ELLEN AUSTIN AND AN UNKNOWN SCHOONER "
They started their journey across the Sargasso Sea. During a huge storm, the ships were separated.
As soon as the weather cleared, Captain Griffin spotted the vessel and notified his crew.
But there was no reply.
Several sailors investigated and found no one to be aboard.
The crew had begun to believe that paranormal activity was responsible for the disappearance.
However, Captain Griffin ordered another team to sail the unnamed vessel to New York despite this.
" THE SECOND ATTEMPT "
Several nights later, a thick blanket of fog settled across the water as the ships headed towards their destination.
Eventually, Ellen Austin slowed down and waited for the fog to clear.
But when the fog cleared, the smaller ship was missing and there was no sign of the second crew.
Griffin chose to continue the New York trip this time, where Ellen Austin would arrive late in February 1881.
3. 1918: USS Cyclops loss remained unknown
A mysterious event occurred in March 1918 when the USS Cyclops crashed in the
Bermuda triangle.
The USS Cyclops was built by William Cramp and Sons Ship and Engine Building
company in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 1910 for the United States Navy. It was
the first of the Proteus class colliers launched for the United States Navy.
“…Not a bit of the wreckage nor sign of any description has been found.
Usually, a wooden bucket or a cork life preserver is identified as
belonging to the lost ship is picked up after a wreck, but not so with the
Cyclops. She just disappeared as though some gigantic monster of the
sea had grabbed her, men and all, and sent her into the depths of the
ocean and the sadness of her destruction is amplified by the absence of
any wireless calls for help being picked up by any ship along the route
that the Cyclops followed.”
The fate of the ship and crew has generated many theories, including being sunk
by the German Navy near St. Kitts, being soaked by cargo that turned into a slurry
and caused the ship to list catastrophically, a massive explosion that scuttled the
ship too quickly to send an SOS or get trapped into the Bermuda Triangle.
The Navy launched a massive investigation into the disappearance of the
large ship but, according to the Navy, “…her loss remains unknown”
4. 1984: FLIGHT 201
On March 31, 1984, this Cessna left Fort Lauderdale, Fla., en route for Bimini Island in the
The Bahamas, but it did not arrive. In addition to the pilot and co-pilot, all
passengers were Cessna employees. However, something went wrong. As the
plane approached its destination, its airspeed slowed significantly, but there were
no radio calls from the plane indicating distress. After dropping from the sky into
the water, the plane completely disappeared from radar. On Bimini Island, a
woman saw a plane crash into the ocean about a mile (1.61 kilometers) offshore,
but no wreckage has been found yet.
5. 1976: Panamanian Ship Trades Cargo for Mystery
The sudden disappearance of Panama flag-bearing vessel MV Tan Binh 127 has
left importers and marine officials worried. The ship was traveling from Vietnam to
Chattogram port and carried 11,000 tonnes of steel worth 110 crore takas.
On August 4, the cargo vessel was supposed to reach Chattogram port. However, it
went missing somewhere near the Myanmar coast on its way there. Both ship
